Though I opted in for the Black PVD the sentiment is the same. Every thought expressed in OP's opening remarks is spot on and I've personally experienced the tug and pull between the emotions, history, and overall marketing hype. It's all real. In the end, I was still happy with my purchase and don't think I would ever regret it.
I just got my PVD Black Lunar Pilot two days ago. I absolutely love this thing. Please share where you got the rally strap from. I was hoping on doing the same with mine.(pictured below. Enjoy the watch and it's rich history brother. I know you'll enjoy it for years to come!
I ended up with the PVD all black version. The meteorite was a little too much dolla wise for my wife to condone. Lol. I'm new to the collection market. Baby steps for now...

Their Chrono watches are amazing works of art. I picked up a 2018 T-Race Chrono pictured below two years ago. I wear it almost on a daily. Your wife got a good eye. Congrats Brother!
