Favorite Watch of the Year | BB41

I got a lot of great watches this year and the Smiley BB41 was my unexpected personal favorite.

The crown to case proportions works for my tastes. The crown tube, while being an unorthodox design feature within this ballpark of watches, is something that I find adds a lot of character.

I find that it works really well as a work and play watch; being both playful at work and professional during leisure time.

I am not a diver, but I appreciate the diver aesthetic, and the dive indices sans the dive bezel allows me to enjoy it in a more casual execution.

While the diameter may seem large on paper, the wonderfully thin case height spreads it out well. Nothing's better than a beautifully dense watch that still retains a lean frame.

The third-party support for straps and bracelets is also a plus, with several brands offering endlinks specifically machined for the Black Bay.

Housing a movement that is serviceable anywhere is icing on the cake.

Please share which watch stood out for you in your collection this year (if you could only pick one)

Love it.

Beautiful watch. If you don't mind me asking, what's your wrist size? Been looking into buying a Tudor, just unsure of which model.

I have approx 40 watches in my collection but would give them up and just keep these 2 my most worn in 2023 . I sometimes question why I collect watches when all I do is come back to these ones Lol.That Tudor is beautiful maybe one day for me. Love it on the Jubilee. Best.

For what it's worth you've got my whole-hearted recommendation. I like it so much I wouldn't be opposed to getting a BB36 with the silver dial.

The BB41 is such a great watch for dress and casual. Yours looks amazing on that Jubilee bracelet🔥

·

My 8 year old daughter really like this one.... You are in good company 😀

Looks great on you. I tried it recently and it felt like a clock. The 36 though would be one of my grails and it's a damn shame these are discontinued. I don't like the new releases, they're too dressy looking

The second most expensive Watch in my collection (after my Hamilton Khaki Field Mechanical).

Agreed. Surprisingly not as easy as i thought to find these new. I thought now would have been the time to buy them for a steal but I was wrong.

I don't necessarily mind the new ones, but I feel that they've removed a key component of what made a Black Bay a Black Bay.

Like I said last night in the live stream "I'm still in the ignorance faze of collecting" 🤣🤣

Enjoying every minute of it. One day I will be able to handle a BB and see what all the fuss is about.

As for my most worn, that would be my Aragon DiveMaster 4 EVO MOP Dial
