Fun fact! The pointer date runs on a modified 2824-2, with the date wheel replaced with a blank brass ring on it that has a notch, which then has a turning plate that rotates by engaging with that notch, finally with the pointer date hand sitting on an extension of that plate, just like any other hand. Basically, they just added 2 net parts, no extra, gears or springs, and you've got yourself a pointer date!
