Horology, brands, watchmakers, which resources would you recommend me?

Hi guys and gals,

As I progress through my horological, I enjoy reading about the design, history, innovations, and innovators. Don't get me wrong; I consume my fair share of YouTube videos (both from influencers, enthusiasts, or institutions like the Horological Society of New York) and even the odd documentary on George Daniels and Roger Smith's relationship: The Watchmaker's Apprentice. I have tried a few magazines. The bottom line is I like the idea of understanding things, so here is my question. What resources would you recommend? Be they books, videos, magazines, documentaries, websites, podcasts.

This is what I currently hold on my bookshelf:

1. Begin. (2023). Grand Seiko Complete book. Sekai Bunkasha Group.

2. Chaille François & Fléchon Dominique. (2018). La beauté́ du temps (The beauty of time). Flammarion.

3. Daniels G. & Penny D. (2021). Watchmaking (Updated 2011). Philip Wilson.

4. Goodall, J., & Seiko Corporation. (2003). A journey in time: The remarkable story of Seiko. Seiko Watch Corporation.

5. Gottardini D. & Lecugy E. (2014). De midi à minuit : les maîtres horlogers (From noon til midnight : master watchmakers). Watchprint.com.

6. Hayek N. G. & Musée du Louvre. (2009). Breguet: an apogee of European watchmaking. Musée du Louvre : Somogy.

7. Hranek M. (2017). A man & his watch: iconic watches & stories from the men who wore them. Artisan.

8. Leonhardt M. (2018). L'heure et plus encore : montres à complications de la collection du musée international d'horlogerie (Time and more : Complications’ watch from the international horology museum). Éditions Alphil.

9. Muser S. (2014). Legendäre armbanduhren von audemars piguet bis zenith (Legendar wristwatches from Audemars to Zentith). HEEL Verlag.

10. Parvulesco C. (2007). Montres militaires (Military watches). Editions ETAI.

11. Seiko Corporation. (2001). Grand Seiko book. Seiko Watch Corporation.

12. Stone G. & Pulvirent S. (2018). The watch: thoroughly revised (Second). Abrams.

I'm an Omega fan, I tend to trawl through eBay & go for older books, they seem less photography oriented and give more information.

Not much help, but wanted to follow this thread .

Cheers 👍🏻

If you enjoy watches of the electronic era by far my most used are Pieter Doensens history of the modern wristwatch and trueb et als electrifying the wristwatch. Sadly only in french , but the book on the history of Lip : des heures a conter is great. One of the most thoroughly researched I’ve come across is Time for change on Enicar watches.
