Have you tried to sell a watch, fail, and re-fall in love?

This is my Citizen Altichron Yellowstone Edition. I posted it for sale once or twice, but no bites (I have a thing for obscure Japanese titanium quartz and I often forget why the prices are so low — not many people are into this! Fine by me that prices stay low).

After I post a watch for sale, I stop wearing it so that I don’t somehow scratch it and have to retake all those goddamn pictures again. A couple months went by, and I went on a hike with my son a week ago and decided to strap on the Altichron and golly, this watch is amazing, what was I thinking trying to sell it?!

Anyone else have this experience? What watch?

That watch looks amazing. What does the lump on the 9 o’clock side of the case do?

I had already posted this watch for sale, I didn't really connect with it (especially on the horrendous nato strap it came with). Out of pure curiosity I decided to throw it on this strap and boy oh boy did it transform the look of the watch. I decided that it's a keeper and won't be selling it, amazing what a strap change can do!

Honestly, no. All of the watches that I've gotten rid of are ones that I don't have any longing for now. It's not necessarily that any of them were bad, but rather that I found something that I liked more.

It has a little sensor that measures your altitude! The yellow hand indicates your altitude if it’s in altitude mode, or the second/minute in chrono mode - I live it sea level so it kinda always has the yellow hand right at 12.

It’s pretty cool! More useful for me than a depth gauge. Oris actually makes a completely mechanical altimeter watch which is pretty nuts I think.

Hahaha yes. Also gorgeous watch

No, but that watch is great. I have a thing for multi-purpose compass watches.

This watch has presence. Keep it. It will always reminds you of your happy and fun hiking adventures 😍

Don’t sell it, it’s a unique watch.

·

Yeah, with more specific limited edition watches, it’s hard to sell because it catches the eye of fewer people. Once I list a watch to sell, I stop wearing it until it sells. 🍻but yeah, someone will buy it eventually.

Enabler! 😂😂the rarity thing is a tough one, I have a bunch of rare watches but I’m trying not to hoard them if I don’t wear them much
