Universal Geneve vintage restoration help

I have a gold UG Compax that my grandfather was awarded for his frontline service in WW2. He was in the Brazilian Army, hence the E.B. (Exército Brasileiro) engraving.

The bottom pusher has fallen and the dial has moisture damage. I don’t think the dial can be repaired, but perhaps cleaned. The pusher May need to be procured, made by hand or not be replaceable altogether. To the best of my knowledge it has never been serviced.

Is there a reputable and extremely good watchmaker that you would recommend for a restoration? I would like to leave it in the best possible shape for the next generation.

I live in California and can post it to anywhere in the USA.

Many thanks

Hello @cota123 👋!

First of all, awesome piece and a fantastic heirloom. So happy for you that this stayed in the family. I don't know of a watch maker, but I wanted to recommend https://shopgoodwill.com/ as a source for getting potential UG parts in the future in addition to the usual Ebay's and Etsy's stores. Usually there are broken watches you can bid for (Rolex, Longines, Zodiac, etc.) and that can help with part sourcing by cannibalizing the broken one to fix yours. Much luck in finding a good watchmaker for the job! 🍀
