Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
Picked up a Tag while on a cruise to have something to wear in a more 'formal' setting. That started me down a rabbit hole of research and my obsessive personality took over in a whirlwind of YouTube videos, researching and buying.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
First ever was probably a Citizen back in high school, but in collecting it was the Tag Heuer Link Calibre 5.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My father owned a Breitling with rouleaux bracelet in the late 90's and he wore it until he passed away. It got handed down to my nephew, but in homage I bought the modern version of the Chronomat on Rouleaux in silver with rose gold accents. Bought during Christmas 2021 in the Chicago boutique while visiting.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Got slower than I did. Figure out your style and goals and then slowly collect the meaningful pieces.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Omega, considering a Speedmaster or Seamaster in addition to my AquaTerra Worldtimer. And would love to get the Anordain someday.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Hard to say, but lately I've been lusting after the Rolex 41mm Datejust Wimbledon with Jubilee and Fluted bezel. On the waiting list, but expect it will be forever.
