Love seeing the Murph, such a great watch, some people get offended when I say it's my beater, and when in doubt it's the Murph that goes with me everywhere.

Field watch that is resilient, how could it not be a beater. It looks great in every situation and doesn't mind rough conditions.

He does so with his 10k+ Rolex Submariner, that he uses as a beater, mind you .. on his wrist, but he doesn't care what others think so, no harm, he's a happy camper.

Wether we like it or not, watches send a message, some louder than others. You may say 'who cares' depends on your situation. But I don't think your situation can be applied to everyone, everywhere, any time.

Sometimes is just daft and tone-deaf to pretend we don't care.
