I fell into a bit of a new watch collector snobbery about quartz. Well not really snobbery just finding them not as interesting and romantic as mechanical watches. But then I noticed the difference in accuracy between different quartz watches and it made me appreciate the timekeeping quality of a higher quality quartz watch.

I’m very lucky. She finds them somewhat interesting and is incredibly supportive of the fact I work hard and want to treat myself sometimes. I nervously floated buying my first four-figure price watch recently …. And she encouraged me :-0

I spend a bit of time for work in Waterbury, original home of Timex. It’s a former industrial city and its decline makes me sad about how few things are made in the States any more. I bought a Timex ‘Waterbury’ as a sort of personal memorial

The only times my watches have caused comment was my two cheapest, shittiest, most oversized ones! A ridiculous Skmei with three faces and a terrible Jaragar navitimer knock-off.
