Hi crunchers!

I'm just barely getting started on my collecting journey, but my love for wrist-watches started years ago while I was studying for my industrial design degree. At the time I knew very little about it, and it seems like since then the watch collecting community online has exploded!

The diseases progression so far:

Early signs - My first watch ever was a Lego watch, with the customizable multicolor plastic bracelet. Terrible for hair pulling 😛

Then in middle/high school I transitioned to a Timex Ironman digital, which seemed cool and fancy and futuristic at the time, with so many features and functions.

In college and beyond, my only watch for years was a green-dial Timex weekender chrono that I got as a freshman, and that bad boy is still ticking along with only one battery replacement. During this time I became aware that there was a much wider array of brands, styles, features, and a deep history. I researched a bit, then moved on to other interests as my ADHD brain has been known to do. That was about 8 years ago.

2 years ago, I discovered several watch YouTubers on accident. I was watching clips of shark tank, and YouTube recommended me a video of Kevin O'Leary talking with Teddy Baldassare and shopping for watches. I heard brand names I'd never known, I heard them talking about different watch movements, there was a lot more depth to this. So I watched more of Teddy's videos.

Then the YouTube algorithm kicked in.

Just One More Watch, The Mad Watch Collector, The Urban Gentry, Long Island Watch, Ben's Watch club and many many more. All were part of my early discovery of this obsession. They made it fun, accessible, and between the channels they covered all different ranges of affordability from Casio all the way to F. P. Journe.

Currently my daily wear is a blue Casio Duro, on black leather. My current grail is the sapphire crystal version of the most recent Omega speedmaster professional moonwatch update. My ultimate Grail would probably be the Quantime Perpetual platinum and blue by F. P. Journe. In between I have plans for an entire collection of Seiko, Hamilton, Tissot, Nomos, Casio, and many more.

I can't wait to get started here and chat with all the other watch enthusiasts out there. Talk to you soon!
