Replacing movement / fixing old SKX007 (London, UK)

Hello everyone!

I found my old SKX007 (first watch of mine that I bought after my first 'official' pay check back in 2012!).

Holds a lot of sentimental value to me, but unfortunately movement is no longer working. I'd love to get it going again. What are recommended routes? Try to DIY or give to a professional. If DIY, can anyone share any resources - Google around, but thought i'd ask here too.

I know that it will probably cost more than what I have paid for the watch itself. I'm happy with. I'm based in London (UK) if anyone has any local recommendations! Thank you

Try reaching out to some in the modding community, they do these sorts of watches all the time, and I'm sure you'll find one local to you. Hopefully someone on here might come forward, but there's plenty of groups on the web(Facebook etc). Obviously it will cost but those Modders do this type of watch all the time and could be a lot cheaper than a watch repairer(especially in london). Good luck.

In short, do you see yourself removing casebacks, crown, movements, dials, and hands with any frequency in the future? If not, just have it done for you. Hands can be a pain. Practice on the cheapest broken quartz watch you can get.

Also, unless you want to get really into the weeds, paying a pro means you can task them with guaranteeing water resistance.

Thanks guys, found a local modder - will get it sorted. So obvious, but modding community didn't even cross my mind!

Did you end up finding someone to fix it? I just found myself in almost the exact same situation. My SKX013 isn’t running and I’m also in London. Thanks.
