Today, the AVI-8 Flyboy 4021 gets some wrist time.

I went through a phase of loving AVI-8 watches. I owned 5, gave them as gifts, and was constantly checking their catalog. Somewhere along the way they lost me with their designs. Today’s AVI-8’s are noisy. That and some of my quartz movements started to fail (they aren’t really that old). I still love that the brand uses WWII era planes as their inspiration, but I haven’t come across any new ones that caught my eye.

This one is an automatic which is why I still have it. The rotor is loud and the colors are bold, but look at that dial texture 😍

Built by same parent company as Spinnaker. Seems they focus on one brand at a time, perhaps? 🤔

I wasn't aware they had the same parent. Makes sense when you look at the websites. Spinnaker definitely seems to have their A-team on design right now.

You can look up Dartmouth Brands. UK based company. Hong Kong based production.
