My Wife just messaged me saying something like, dad's watch (Seiko quartz, day/date everyday type) is STILL LOOOMING after all these years!

Imagine how I felt.

I have rubbed off on her and am not sorry about it ๐Ÿ˜

Any of you have older watches that still shine bright in the darkness?

Story time:

So when I first became enamored with Seiko which was quite obvious at home, I started talking about automatic watches again and why I like them which goes back to something my dad said years ago. https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxVb-ORH6TRkC6i1exEkmZtuzfASiAAy0

Then one day she calls me from her parents house excited and told me the watch her father wears all day every day for years is, "guess what? a Seiko!".

I immediately placed an order for 3 more watches. Not kidding.

Anyway, what she said in the opening paragraph today gave me a smile. What gave me more joy is how much she loves the one I gave her earlier this week!

Month prior to this, she excitedly told me the watch her dad wore for all of these years is a Seiko. She sent pics and asked about it.

I searched the numbers and told her when it was made, etc. It was a gift to him by her oldest sister.

This prompted me to want to gift him a new one. She apparently showed him a pic of my box as is was then and he liked various aspects of some of my watches.

Armed with that info I bought him a new one and took it over and sized the bracelet for him.

It was a bonding experience of sorts, there is a language barrier so our conversations over these decades was minimal, at best.

He really loves the watch and still wears his old "battery watch" daily. Reserves the Presage for church ๐Ÿ˜€

It felt good to be able to do something like that for him, he's always giving and gets nothing for himself.

He was schooling my wife on automatic watches and this was another motivating factor for the purchase.

All over watches. After all these years. Go figure.
