Many years ago, I was introduced to the Rolex Datejust. As I started to learn more about the watch, it inspired me to learn more about watches in general. One thing led to another and before I knew it, I was a goner.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
A Seiko SKX007
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
The Belhamel Contra A39, because I've put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into designing and producing the watch under my own brand.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Do not let others tell you what's good to own and wear and what isn't. Don't get caught up in the hype around a specific feature or watch. Find out for yourself what you like and ignore the rest. Don't get into things just because others are. If you care more about aesthetics, then the movement of a watch shouldn't matter much to you. If you care more for the technical aspect of watches, then ignore the superficial demands of the collective unless you agree with it for a specific reason. Develop your own taste and preferences.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
