Beanna....absolutely!.All prestigeous (?) goods are desirable in that they are generally superbly designed and manufactured to the highest degree with the finest materials available to the artists who make them .Leather goods are a case in point.Just as outrageous as Rolex in their marketing hype are the likes of Louis Vuitton,Hermes,Bottega Vanetta et al,but they are desirable first and foremost for the quality of the manufacture.People who buy these items are satifying their appreciation for quality more importantly than the percieved kudos inevitably attached to the owner and ownership.
Yep,got to agree that just about everone couldn't give a rusty rats ass about watches that I know anyway except my newsagent who I noticed wearing a GS 5 which he loves but says he'd love to get a Rolly soon.I didn't have the heart to show him my Explorer 36 124270 in case it broke his!.God! how I love this baby,so classily understated. Two months after I bought it the price jumped six hundred bucks!.Well said MarkCO BTW.
First,splash out on some cool(Both ways!) Linen jacket and chinos when you get there!.As far as the timepiece goes wear a sub thou dollar one on a matching nato strap. And watch out for the guys on scooters...they will grab anything within reach and be gone before you can blink.
