Tudor Service Experience (Black Bay 36 - 2824)

Thought I’d pass this along for those who may be trying to find info on Tudor servicing. I reached out to my AD in December to ask about getting my BB36 (2824) serviced. Was quoted $325 for the service and $155 more if I wanted the case refinished to factory specs. As I’d bought this used about 5 years ago and it already had some scratches/dings at that point, I opted for both to try to get the “like new” experience. Dropped it off at the AD to send into Tudor. Estimate was 6-8 weeks. Wound up taking 10, but I’m sure the holidays affected that. Returned in a black Tudor pouch with a service warranty card with NFC that you can use to pull up a webpage showing what service was completed on the watch and its warranty status. The refinishing was nicely done — polish and brushing restored while keeping sharp edges and using a light enough touch that remnants of a couple of the biggest dings remained (which I’d rather have than overpolished).

All in all, a very positive experience and great to have my BB36 back looking and keeping time (almost) like new.

Thanks for the info and congrats the watch looks mint 👌🏻 as for the servicing, do you take it to a Rolex Service Centre and they take care of both Rolex/Tudor timepieces or is there an actual separate "Tudor Service Centre"? (because where I am, apparently RSC takes care of both brands)

Thanks! I just took it in to my AD to save shipping. My understanding is that they sent it to the RSC in Long Island (NY) for the service.

I was wondering, this is great to know.

Any difference in time keeping?

I think mines +5 s/d and very consistent @ 3 yrs old.

Thos is my simplest watch yet the most punchy with contrast. Im not sure if anyone except me has noticed in “real” life. 👍

It was running about -5 spd when sent off and now is about +1. It was about +2 when I first got it. With it being about 7 years old, the slowdown in the rate, and a little slow getting going, I figured it was time for a service.

Thanks for sharing! I’m hitting 3 years in with mine this summer.

Sounds like typical servicing. They did send the parts replaced back to you right? Just looking to confirm as Omega, Hamilton and Tag do this but I haven't had to have a Tudor serviced yet and would like to know what to expect. BTW, the cost looks completely in line.

There were no parts returned…I doubt anything other than the mainspring, gaskets, and maybe the crown were replaced. But my understanding is that RSC typically does not return parts, unlike the brands you mentioned.
