Hot and cold watches?

Does anyone else have watches they go back and forth on? Some days I put this on and I’m into it. Some days I put it on and I’d rather have something else taking it’s spot in the watch box.

What do you do with such watches? Go ahead and let them go? Enjoy the roller coaster?

The James Bond Seamaster 300m. I almost never wear it because it's too big, but sometimes I put it on (when nobody is watching 😬) and wear it for an afternoon. The rational thing is, of course, to sell the watch.

In my particular case I think it's too perfect a watch, especially in relation to what a really nice example is worth on the open market, to let someone random just have it for "cheap". I am holding on to it so I can give it away at some point as a gift to someone I like... or at least that is the plan.

Had the same feeling about my sea dweller,I felt the bezel was too large .put it on a black rubber strap and it now works, try a leather strap

This Navi Harbour is that watch for me. Some days I'm fond of it, some days I don't know why I ever bought it. 🤦🏽

My Laco Augsburg for sure. It just barely fits on my wrist.

I don't waver on how I feel about my watches. I would not have purchased them if I wasn't into them 100%. Kind of reflects my personality though. Never too high or too low on much of anything.

100%

I've been trying to get rid of my SARB035 for like 5 years, but every time I start the listing, or think that I'll bestow it's awesome power to a friend or my brother, I get cold feet.

I had tried a handful of other Seiko's when I first got into the hobby, but nothing clicked with me until I found this; I wore it everyday for a year?

When I started filling out my collection with more luxury selections (as the watch disease grew), ol' SARBY took a back seat and I just couldn't find the time to wear it.

But then, I'll throw it on a cream nato, take it to a brunch with friends and I'm back in love with it - or put it on an Uncle bracelet with just the right outfit at just the right time and it's back in the rotation for a month or two.

Finally, I've just decided to keep it, the joy it brings me when it does bring me joy is greater than the stress it causes me when it causes me stress - I suppose, enjoy the roller coaster because lets be honest, whatever we replace these watches with will fall victim to the same fate, it's just a matter of time!

Exactly,

I've realized that I have some watches in my collection subconsciously earmarked for people in my life. Seems a better fate than sending it off to a stranger.
