Advice for buying a watch

Hello, tomorrow I am going to buy a 38mm Seagull 1963 off of olx (romanian ebay), can anybody tell me what I should do? What to ask for, what to make sure is good, how to not get scammed overall? I am pretty new to watches. Thank you

Having the box and papers is always nice to verify authenticity. I doubt the watch has ever been serviced but you can ask if it has a repair history and documentation. Give the watch crown 10-15 turns(clockwise) and make sure that it functions. Pull the crown out and set the time. Then check that the small seconds hand on the left side of the dial is turning. Then push the top Chrono plunger and make sure the red Chrono hand starts ticking. Push the top plunger again and it should stop. Push the bottom plunger to make sure the Chrono hand resets at 12 o'clock. That's about as much as you can do aside from taking it to a watch repair shop to have them look it over. If it doesn't feel right then walk away. Good luck!
