First Watch Meet Up

I’m heading to my first gathering of watch enthusiasts tomorrow, which I’m super excited about. For those who have experience attending these gatherings, what’s a general rule of thumb for the number of watches to bring to the event? Any recommendations are appreciated!

If it’s a watch, meet up with watch vendors, probably just bring your own watch to wear.

If it’s an event for you to bring watches and talk about them in a group discussion, I would suggest minimum 3 watches, of those three, have talking points on them and why you brought those three.

Just you showing up with enthusiasm should be awesome enough don’t stress have fun and let me know how it goes!! Remember, we’re all learning every day!

Thanks for the advice! It’s an event to bring watches, so I’ll probably bring at least 3 with one on my wrist.

Just bring what you’re comfortable with, I don’t think there is a rule. Most people, at least from my experience with a WC meetup, will appreciate not only the watch/es but the connection you have with the piece/s. Just be aware a lot of people wanna touch the watch see it up close.

I have been to a few Red Bar meetups in my area, and I tend to wear one, bring 2. Its what I'm comfortable with.

I go to watch events frequently including the local RedBar. My first time I'd bring one in addition to the one on my wrist. Get to know your peers and surroundings until you're comfortable.

Wear something different. Everyone has seen the popular models already. People will be more jazzed to see a weird one of Alpinist than just about any Rolex. If you want to bring a roll, that is cool too, but stick to the rule just mentioned.
