A free option to try instead of the wide lens is a good panorama app. It combines several photos and the result is normally much better. Plus no need to carry lenses around.
If done right the results can be very cool. This one was around 50 photos if I remember correctly.

Try natural lighting from a window.
There are similar lenses that cover the frame and give a cleaner image.
And the background could be a bit more intentional. Feels a bit messy.
