I think it looks pretty good and I like seeing the Waltham name being revived.

With you on the that

Love it, really cool. I'd go for the fauxtina one myself.

Agree, great to see an old brand resurrected 👍🏻

Cool looking watch and history (resurrected) but at that price ($1000+) I'd like to know more about the maker. Does anyone know about or have experience with this new incarnation of Waltham or the kickstarter like Watch Angel?

Was just surfing WC and came across your post.

I'm serving as Waltham's historian for the new Waltham Type A-17 NG project.

Waltham is owned by an American but the watches are made in Mendrisio Switzerland.

Waltham relaunched in 2015 with the AeroNaval Collection.

About 2.5 years ago we launched the new Waltham Field & Marine Watch.

A 3 hand and a Dual Time versions in 41mm and 43mm.

Last year we launched the Waltham THERMO Watch, 43mm.

Now we have revisited the original 1951 Waltham Type A-17 Pilot's Watch.

As you can see, the DNA of the original 1951 model heavily influenced the new 2023 model.

Bigger size at 40mm, automatic movements, comes with two dial options.

The $1,000 price tag includes shipping.

I funded (and received) the CB01 GMT NK60. My experience with Watchangels was about like every other crowdfunding site. It took a long time to get; well past the initial promise date. There was little communication in terms of progress. The watch itself seems fine though. It is getting a lot of wrist time.

Fairly similar experience w WA. I was also a backer of the CB01 gmt. I had previously purchased a pre-owned CB01 ‘end of the machine’ which drew me into the WA ecosystem.

I do give them credit for not being an outsourced shell like many other crowdfunded outfits and instead being actual watch makers in the center of the culture. I’m also a huge fan of Cedric and his ethos of sustainability. My two CB examples are favorites of my modest collection.
