I've used a lot of springbar tools and there is no difference in any of them...you just need to master the technique. A great craftsman does not blame his tools.
Once you've changed it out, get only quick release straps/bracelets and all your spring bar tools can go into hibernation.

This. It isn't really a tool that needs to be very sharp or hard or exquisitely crafted. It's like a fork. My primary is the same generic one I got off Ebay sometime in the early aughties for $2-3 and it's fine. It's a commodity grade item.
Now if you mean for tricky bracelets or something, that may be different, but for the average leather band it just doesn't matter.
