Thanks! What drives me nuts is how great the prices of some of these solid brands like San Martin are, and then I go look at VAER and they’re charging like they’re some kind of elite brand. Usually they have lesser components or equivalent to these other, better priced brands. I guess it’s because they’re in over their heads with the variety of options you can choose for each watch. All the different movements. It irks me so bad because they have some classic designs that are great, but the pricing is so far off. #vaer

UGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

Fabulous and a great dial!

A large reason for the pricing being different because Chinese labor and other things are so cheap that others cannot compete with it. People are so shocked, because they don’t understand, forget, or willfully selectively remember this.

People love to give companies praise for not making stuff in China but then complain when they have to pay for it.

That is a beautiful watch amigo! Just screams summer fun with that colourway and really think it is a landmark piece, the one San Martin original design that outshone the homages and led the brand to the direction their on.

Have the same design but different colourway on a long way over from China (should get out of customs Monday or Tuesday) and am itching with anticipation. Does it wear as well as it looks?

Agree....my reading is that brands like SM have reach such scale that they can build quality and reduce costs significantly. Vaer maybe sells 1000 watches a year (I really don't know) and SM probably 50,000 so they have more power in the marketplace to optimize costs...and yes...some of this microbrands that use the same tools and machining processes have only design as their distinctive feature. That is why SM is doing things so well.

Thanks @CdeFmrlyCasual. I discarded that point initially because the watches made overseas by them seem to be premium priced as well, but I don’t think that’s a totally fair assessment by me.

Here is to VAER driving our GDP to the moon! They’re on their way.
