Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I saw a friend of mine with his SKX007. I kept looking at it everytime we hang-out. Finally got the courage to ask what it was and years later, here I am!
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
The first watch I ever owned is a flik flak. But on a serious note. the first watch I consciously bought for the sake of just having a watch is a Timex Weekender.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My Seiko Samurai 'Save The Ocean' SRPC93K. It is my first 'serious' watch. I originally wanted to get the SKX007 but saw this beauty. Not only that, it also commemorates my first job which is in the shipping industry. Showed my late-father this watch and he instantly bought a watch of his own right after.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Your taste changes in watches over time and that is completely natural. But what is important is if the watch makes you smile when you look at it, you got yourself a good watch!
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I'm currently looking at microbrands. Kurono Tokyo keeps lingering in my mind. It might just be my next purchase!
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
I have two; one is the Zenith Chronomaster and the other I shamelessly like is the Rolex Datejust with the Palm dial.
