What watch did Dr. Seuss Wear?

After seeing this picture of Dr. Seuss on the back of one of my son's books I was curious about this unique looking watch. I can't find any info on it or better pictures of it, so I know it's a long shot but thought it might be recognizable by shape. My best guess is that this photo was taken in the 1970s, could be anywhere from the 60s to 80s though...

UPDATE: Looking at related photos on Google images, I believe it was taken in 1979.

Hmmmm. At first glance, I would guess a Hamilton “Ventura”? Definitely looks like a watch from the 70’s (pre integrated sports watch?) I tried googling and came up with nothing. We have a mystery on our hands! When I have time I am going to start looking at any photographs I can find of him.

Looks a little like a #julesjurgensen that I have, especially the curved down corners.

I mean given your screen name I’m sure you considered this . . . But it kind of looks like an accutron.

Something I don't want, dude it a piece of crap. Anyways, it's definitely not a Hamilton Ventura. But that as much as I have.

Found some other images from the photoshoot - the closest from the above linked seems to be the Longines maybe?

Intriguing mystery. I'll offer another possibility: Glashutte Spezimatic. However given the circumstances, back in the 60s and 70s, I'm not sure how likely it would have been for this watch to have come to the US. Also the bracelet on the watch he's wearing is very distinctive and doesn't quite match.
