This might sound odd to some on here but, I have admired the Speedmaster since I got serious into watches back in the early '90's and even though I technically can "afford" one, I just can't bring myself to spend even the $2k'ish for a good used Reduced.  

I just can't seem to spend that much and from time to time when I do think I could, I start to think I would never wear it because I spent so much...

Frustrating...maybe one day, who knows.

I’m with the Roman Numerals thing too, not my bag either. 
 

Another thing I can’t stand are low quality steel bracelets. I’m all for lower cost watches but a poor quality bracelet just ruins the whole thing. 

Nice!  What’s the best way to figure out what year a watch was made?  I’m thinking I want to do the same for collection.
