Hey guys,
Any thoughts about this Seiko SPB185J1 "Steelmaster" or the MMR 200? I really like the look and dimensions of this dive watch over my smaller wrist. Should I take the plunge? ๐ The price is a bit high to be honest.

The SPB185 is a very well made watch and the scratch resistant coating on this level of Seiko is stellar. They are very accurate, and robustly built. Having owned the 185, I sold it when I got an SPB143 thinking it was the better of the two and only being able to justify owning one Seiko dive watch at this price point. I regretted the sale, liking the 185 more in the end. ย What should you do? If you like the watch, buy it. There are no issues with the watch itself; it's a good piece, with the usual caveat pertaining to all Seikos; check the alignment of the bezel. The watch is good. Only you can decide if it's good for you.ย

Thanks for your insight! I'm really thinking about getting a very nice dice watch for my collection. Other than budget, I'm comparimg this Seiko SPB185 to Certina's DS Action Diver 38mm (which is cheaper).
