Great pictures! Love the cork on cork picture 👌 Is that tinfoil in the B-W picture? Really cool! Looks like an ocean off mercury. Have a great day and good luck with the shopping my friend 🤝😊
Love the clean dial, very legible. The hallmark of a great watch. Timex will be here when all of the fads and trends are gone. Love the cork strap too! Have a great day John!

Thanks a lot Lorenzo. I couldn't believe my luck when I came across that box of corks a few days ago. I've been eager to use it ever since. Yes, you get today's bonus points. It is a sheet of scrunched up tinfoil which was then spread out under a desk lamp which was covered in greaseproof paper to soften the light.

An ocean of mercury? I like that description my friend.. have a great day

Thanks Danilo. So many compliments for such a humble little watch.. that's what I like about this forum. It doesn't matter at what level you play the game. Everyone treats you as a fellow enthusiast 🙏
Thank you Dan. It's only through the encouragement of yourself and others, that I keep trying.. I might be running out of ideas though 😕
Haha. I know the feeling. Ive only got some many trinkets and random pieces of junk to through into a photograph! Might have to take a trip to a charity shop or the tip 😆

Just realised all the typos and awful grammar in my comment! But I assume you got the gist! 🤣
Hi Shahn. We had been travelling around Portugal for a couple of weeks, and as you may know, Portugal is a large producer of cork products. I kept seeing cork belts for trousers everywhere and I thought it would be fun to get a cork strap. Unfortunately, I couldn't find one anywhere.
A few weeks later when we had moved to Spain (and I had forgotten about the strap), my wife spotted one by chance, whilst we were wandering around a gypsy street market. As well as being a good strap spotter she is also a good haggler and got the asking price down from €15 to €9 iirc

John, how has the cork strap been holding up? Still looks great! Is it as durable as you hoped?
It feels okay, Lawrence. Still feels a little stiff, like it hasn't worn in yet. But there's no sign of cracking or splitting. Now that I've sold my Pagani, the Weekender is the only 20mm watch I have left and I'm dying to throw another strap on for a change. But I'm determined to give the cork a fair run, to see how it holds up.

Great shots as always John. You've inspired me to raise my wrist shot game 💪

Cheers Tony. I agree about the touch of red. I've seen versions of this watch, were the seconds hand is grey.. and it just looks bland

Thanks as always Craig, but I am shocked that you would doubt my word.
That said, shopping's finished, and I'm now having a beer... just to be sociable you understand 😉
Amazing shots. John. You do raise the bar a little every time. Have a pleasant evening.

Lol.. I leave the typo police work to someone else. Your friendship is all that matters to me 🤓
