Which Bronze + Green SW200-powered Watch?

Aesthetically I prefer the CW's rich emerald green dial, and I'm not super bothered about having a rotating dive bezel, but I'm wondering if Oris build quality or finishing are regarded as better. Case size is the same at 38mm. They both have SW200 (or SW200-based) movements with an unremarkable 38h power reserve. The CW is a little more water resistant at 150m vs the Oris's 100m. The Oris retails for £1k more than the CW, but I've seen it on sale for much less, bringing the price difference down to £300 or £400.

I don't have personal experience of either watch, but... if you have an aesthetic preference for the CW, unless that preference is only very very mild, I think that would be the decision-making process over for me. Then factor in that it's cheaper and CW have a strong reputation for over-delivering relative to their prices... and they'll let you return it within 60 days if you go cool on it... and it's got a colour-matched date wheel, which the Oris doesn't!

...if you liked the look of the Oris more, I'd call that a hard choice. But you prefer the look of the CW... what's holding you back?

Oris, but not a pastel colour. If they do a bronze with more conventional dial that's what I'd go for.

If not, then the CW.

Both great, don't think there's a bad choice either way 👍🏻

In true forum fashion, I won't choose "A" or "B", but instead suggest a third option! Different esthetic, so kinda depends on your preference. But this would be my choice in the "green dial, Bronze sw200-powered" category.

Thanks very much. I think what was holding me back was a notion that for a £1000+ watch I should go for the most 'premium' or established brand (and for whatever reason I perceived that to be Oris). But the point you make about CW's reputation is a really good one and I think you're right.

Thanks a lot - I have definitely been considering the Big Pointer too, I've seen it in person and it's a beaut. It's a little too similar to my gold/green Alpinist and I'm not sure I actually like the date hand vs a window. But it's a very strong choice particularly as it can be bought with a bronze bracelet. It's 40mm and I'm leaning towards 38mm, but I think it's worth my trying on for sure.

Based on the Oris watches I've handled, CW is better finished.

Maybe there are exceptions, but I've never thought Oris was worth the asking price.

What a classy looking time piece it’s just stunning and a lovely green and as I’ve said before they are built like tanks…!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⏱️

I've owned a CW C60 Bronze and now have an Oris BCPD, so I have experience with both brands, though not the ones you're considering. Both are excellent watches, so you can't go wrong between these two. I think Oris is better overall quality but at a considerably higher price. So to me, it would be down to esthetics, personal preference. I don't care for the pastel dial so it would be an easy decision for me for the CW. Apparently, not so easy for you. Enjoy whichever you end up with!

Thanks a lot, that's very helpful. I think I'm going to go for the CW.
