Independent French company that started in late 1940s, known for Superman dive watch and it's bezel locking mechanism and it's racing chronos (worn by Mario Andretti). Bought by Seiko in 80s, taken back independent by French owners in 2000s; and really started launching new and back catalogue models last 5-6 years. Building its own inhouse calibers now; but plenty of models still have Sellita or Seiko Quartz.
I would say the company has good reputation: but some QC issues with their inhouse movements seem to be the most common issue. I think that is largely resolving as that manufacturing process matures. Overall solid company with a good catalogue of products.
I own one of the first relaunch models of the Yema Superman from around 2020 with a Sellita - nothing but a good experience; great watch.
Which one did you get? Their micro movement is making me look at the Superman Slim 2.0
