The Geneva-based brand belongs to the limited circle of Swiss watchmakers still in family hands. Raymond Weil brand was founded in 1976 by the man himself 😊 After a period of rapid development, the company needed to expand and son-in-law Olivier Bernheim joined what was to become a family business in 1982. Olivier Bernheim was to become President & CEO in 1996. The Freelancer mechanical collection was introduced in 2006 for the 30th anniversary. Elie Bernheim was appointed CEO in April 2014.

absolutely, but this one look stunning 🍺

I’ve got a RW Freelancer Diver in my collection and absolutely love it. I was actually thinking the other day if I had to choose 1 do it all watch from my collection it would probably be this one.

I can wear it to the office, the beach, pretty much anywhere and it never really looks out of place.

They don’t have the same brand heritage as other Swiss brands, but they‘ve made their own mark in a relatively short period of time. They’ve marketed themselves well down under and you tend to see them quite regularly.

I don’t see myself parting with this one anytime soon.

Beautiful watch!👍

I enjoy the Freelancer.  Its a great watch and I particularly love the tasteful date.

Nothing wrong with the brand either, it's just a very crowded price point with a huge amount of competition.

RW has an uphill climb to gain recognition against Oris, Frederique Constant, Montblanc and the mid tier of the Swatch Group brands.  Even Tudor begins to dip down in this price range with some of their models (the Royal and the 1926).

·

I hadnt heard of them before and the watches seem to be very nice if mostly out of my personal price segment 😎

My father, who used to have Seiko and Hamilton watches back in the 70's, has a Raymond Weil watch now.  He showed it to me this past Christmas when we were talking about watches.  I'd never heard of the brand and was impressed with what I found during my research.

I'd say it is definitely an underpromoted brand in today's terms.
