It’s funny because more are voting for the newer reference, but the passion for the 2254 is undeniable (more commenters), which is probably why they seem to be going for more $$. The 2254 is less dressy looking to me but still just gets me when I look at it. I think getting the right 2254 is probably a big part of the challenge as I want one with the box and bracelet links.
Yep. It sounds like the AD is going to be the way to go. I just wonder if they even want to sell you one if you aren’t buying the watch with it. I hear Omega ADs aren’t as bad as Rolex ADs for stuff like that, so I’ll just have to see how it goes.
Interesting. This one looks more authentic, but clearly isn’t. It just looks closer to me than that one. I really want the real deal. Omega’s finishing is great.
I bought a Pagani Explorer 1 and gave it away. I really think for this type of watch, the Steinhart option is much better. https://www.steinhartwatches.de/en/ocean-vintage-gmt-neu.html
I definitely think Monta is on a different level for finishing. I adore my Trident, but am also very into the Monta Noble and their Skyquest GMT as an affordable GMT Master II alternative. At this point I may just be saving up for my Seamaster Professional 300. I have wanted one since the 90s and I’m in a good spot to consider it.
