I couldn't agree more!.
As social animals we tend to look for approval, it's actually only natural.
I have two childhood friends, both now in their 60's, both good decent family men.
Both have owned and rode Harley Davidson bikes for decades.
Recently, one had artwork done on his tank and I happened to admire the artwork!.
My other friend (both shall remain nameless 😂) was greatly insulted when I expressed admiration of the others Harley. 😂🤣😂
Now, as I have said both great guys who would do ANYTHING for each other, yet even they are unconsciously seeking approval.
Perhaps my Mother was correct, perhaps we men never grow up!.
I didn't, though a close friend had and still today, has one.
My Father (R. I. P) left me a beautiful set of knives. He was a good old fashioned pipe smoker and all his life he carried the 3.
One for his pipe, One he got in the 1950's in the army, which still looks new and the 3rd is a marble handled apple knife.
It has one peel blade, one for taking out the core and a larger blade for slicing. Of course useless by today's standards but like watches, the knives hold wonderful memories.
I have to agree!.
I have several now, collected albeit almost accidentally over the years.
It seems every guy or gal I meet who collect watches, also collect knives.

I still have the skill, but life has been rather unkind, in that years of focus on tiny parts are taking their toll.
I look like something from a sci-fi movie nowadays, spectacles with ever stronger loup attachments.
Such is life as they say, whoever the hell THEY are!. 😂🤣😂🤣
