Fabric Straps

Guys/Ladies, Help required:- Outer Know Fabric Straps. What's the best way to clean them? I am toying with the idea of putting them in a sock and running it through a wash cycle in the Washing Machine. Is that a bad plan? Any ideas would be great if anyone has any experience of the Econyl Fabric. Please?

Soak it in hot non boiling water with dishwashing liquid. After 15 minutes brush it lengthwise on both sides with a medium hard brush. Rinse with clear water and hang to dry.

Baking soda and vinegar also work but might leave an unpleasant odor.

I have CDO. Which is like OCD, but in the proper alphabetic order ;-)

Will do Buddy. Will do. 👍

Your plan is FANATSTIC.

Do the same thing myself. I do place the sock inside a pant pocket, or one of those delicate baggie things, just so it doesn't flop around.

Only delicate of course low to no spin, and air dry after of course.

Great! Thank you for your kind help. I shall try that.

I'd also use a very mild, color safe detergent. Usually for me that's Woolite brand stuff.

I like your idea of running it through the wash! 💯💯💯

What about sticking it in the dishwasher? I’ve thought about this method but have not pulled the trigger. Any thoughts?

Dishwasher, good idea, but maybe a wee bit extreme. Think Washing Machine on a gentle, cool cycle might be the less invasive option. Saying that, if results aren't good, Dishwasher it will be 👍

What @sfreak said. If would imagine soaking it in warm water and soap, followed by a gentle scrub should do the trick.

Hi, quick update:- Following the great advice on here, I have cleaned the Strap.

I used, initially Oxy Action Fabric Stain Remover then washed it with Soap and Water. I am amazed, it has come back as good as new. Literally. Also incredibly surprised at how well the Strap has held it's shape/texture and colour. It's like I have just purchased it.

Happy Christmas everyone.
