Ex military, self-employed management consultant and volunteer mountain rescue & first responder. Fan of tool watches with a military theme or has a story
I’ve always had a fascination before I knew watch collecting was a thing! I’ve always enjoyed the sea and dived since my teens so have a real passion for dive watches. A few years ago my old unit commissioned a Breitling Super Ocean and after that I was bitten by the bug!
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Digital Casio when I was about 11 years old
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My old Seiko Scuba Solar was my main watch for about 20 years and accompanied me all over the world and into some dangerous places. It was also my dive watch and I used it all on my dives.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don’t rush, buy what you like and speaks to you but do your research. Avoid hype watches and think about your theme and how you what to curate your collection though this will evolve over time.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Panerai and IWC
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
I have 3 grail watches they are the Vacheron Constantine Historique American 1921 beautiful unique style. The VC Overseas which is the ultimate sports watch and exudes class. Finally the Patek Phillipe Travel Time 5134 which to me is pure understated class and style.
Imagine those three as your watch collection!
