On a casual watch, date for sure. On a dressy watch, absolutely no date. And no day for me on any watch, takes away to much of the dial. (Except gold on gold day date 36mm)
I live in a society where I'm almost painfully aware of the date at all times. Removing the date cleans up the dial & removes moving parts from the mechanism, theoretically making the watch slightly more reliable.
