SOTC aka New Kids in the Box

Dear Santa I was bad boy.

My collection grew faster than expected. But sometimes...you just have to say: "YES! I want!".

It was quite good mix of very affordable and also more expensive watches...but also for great prices.

I'll go chronologically..."step by step (...uuuuh Babyyy)"quote off.

Casio Duro (Marlin)

It's actually not a matter if you need the Duro. It's by far the best Diver you can buy for money. If you can effort, just put it into your box. I was in hurry because I wanted the discontinued model with the Marlin on the dial. Puhh...got it. Next!

Rado True Square Plasma High Tech Ceramic

I ever wanted a square shaped watch, as they feel better on my wrist. As iconic the Cariter Santos is, I personally have two Problems with it. 1st the price! 2nd the high polished but very sensitive case which get scratches even just if you loook straight on it. In combination with the price this is not acceptable for me. The Rado True Sqaure was ideal for me. The high polished chrome like or gunmetal like look is actually Rados Plasma High Tech Ceramic. A watch that always looks like super high polished, but will never get any scratches. And a perfect symetry of case and dial. The ideal watch for the Monk in me.

Casio MRW-200H-1E aka CaSKX

CaSKX due to it's similarity with the legendary Seiko SKX.

These watch replased my Casio AE1200 as my most worn watch. Perfect for sport, legibility in night, playing with kids, and still looking good with it's well propotioned shape and golden accents. Beside of the Duro one of the best diver style watches for little money you can get.

Montblanc Star UTC Chronograph 107113

Well, that was kind of destiny. Actually I was saving up for something completly different. But with a double discount to 60% off at my local department store I couldn't resist as a Homo Economicus. My first analog UTC/GMT which totally convinced me.

Zeppelin 8888-2

I always wanted reverse Panda chrono. But without the high purchase and service costs. The Zeppelin 8888-2 Quartz was therefor ideal. It was presented to me at the watch time fair in Düsseldorf. Even quite affordable with around 300 Euro I got it even with high discount. And this watch makes fun to look on it.

Most worn

As mentioned my CaSKX was the ideal grab and go for anything in my daily life.

Most disappointing

Was the AE1200. I wrote already a column about it why and what happend. It was all fine when I was wearing it almost one or two years nonestop. But after a break of over a half year or longer it was very complicated to set it again and use all the complications... espeially with a horrible faulty manual. Well, too much complications can make it sometime complicated. 😜 hehehe

So I can understand why people love this watch and why it can be a one watch collection. But for me who changes his watches all the time and beeing busy with other things, I need something more simple like an analog GMT/UTC.

Why the Casio has to stand while the rest getting the VIP seat ? 😅

Well, let's say the AE-1200 had disappointed me when I needed her.

She can be happy that she's still on the picture and not in the trash can. 😉
