...puh...long name...

It's too early to make a review. But it's love on first sight. I actually like rectangular shaped watches, since I owny my Casio AE-1200. But I was looking for something without straight lines and industrial shape and design. I also looked for a (much) less expensive but more scratch resistant alternative to the Cartier Santos.

Tadaa...the Rado True Square.

I love the organic round looking lines and corners. The size fits very well on my wrist. But also the ceramic material is mind blowing.

The Plasma High Tech Ceramic is produced in a special treatment which makes it look like super high polished metal. But other than Cartier it will never scratch (side note: I hate scratches). The watch feel super light. I didn't weight it, but it feels like just slightly more than my Casio. Most other materials outside of the movement are made of Titanium, as like the clasp (also a material which I love).

I chose the olive green dial, because I like green and it reaaly fits to the color of the ceramic.

It generelly feels very comfortable on the wrist due to it's warm temperature of the ceramic and titanium materials.

Inside is a C07.611 working with 80h power reserve, anti magnetic Nivachron spring and the movement is proteced of shocks.

The True Square seems to become a major line at Rado as tgey offere quite a lot of different designs, materials and dials. They also have an "open heart" which is actually more like skeletonized, but I really love my clean clear minimalistic design. The whole design language appeals to me.

That's it so far. Let's see how the next months after the honey moon will be.

That dial is breathtaking! Live the shape of it too. This might seem sacrilegious but I find this more interesting than a Cartier Santos.

Its great, not usually into square but that one stands out.

Beautiful Rado - congrats! I feel the brand doesn’t get enough love as it deserves ❤️🤙

Thanks. Yes...actually it is for me too. Don't get me wrong. I like the cartier design but I feel like Rado True Square fullfilled all my expectations which Cartier couldn't. But Rado didn't made an homage. Beside of the movement and marketing there a some other very expensive cost bearer: Design, Material and processing.

If you look on the products of Rado, you will never see a watch which looks like a desigm copy. To be fair....some does look very s...ty. But I rather do respect a company which put their efforts and money into a very own design even if it's ugly instead of copying like even other luxury brands do. Because most others wont take the risk of investing and failing with own ideas. But Rado do.

And with the true square and the captain cook line, they founded really unique pearls.

Same with the materials. Rado always tries to stand out with the materials beside of ceramic they offer also scratch resistant steel, to make sure the watch you bought will stay beautiful even in decades. That is appreciating the own product and also the customer.

Some would criticize the standard movement. But I love it. It is a proven work horse, which is easy and fast to repair and to service and doesn't cost a fortune.

So it seems comparing to Santos it seems Rado offers a great alternative for less than one fourth of the price but without thir downsides.

Btw. Jayson from "Design Atelier" made once a great Video about the True Square.

Totally agree. If you even just a little dive into Rado you understand very quickly how great this company and their products are. Unfortunately very less promoted.
