Watchjourney 2024 Update
So the travelling watch is now on it's way to @FeebleWrists.
I deliberately kept the stay in Aberdeen short, a change in job and personal commitments meant I couldn't lavish on it the attention the 2023 watch received. Only fair that i pass it on quickly so others can enjoy the creation from @Mr.Santana.
Perhaps it was fate that it came to me next as it arrived with a couple of issues. The crown and stem was proving very difficult to engage once the time and date was set. A problem I've experienced on some of my own NH35 builds. And more concerning, the automatic mechanism wasn't working. After a day of wear, the watch would run down over night and there was no rotor sound when doing the Seiko shuffle.
A quick look at the mechanism and a trim of an errant sliver of plastic off the white retainer solved the rotor issue. The crown and stem is still troublesome, but a minute adjustment to the movement alignment has made it slightly easier to engage.

Scottish, in my 50's and I prefer 20th century styling & design for my watches. Have no preference over movement type, Quartz or mechanical they both have pro's & cons. For me, a watch is for telling...

I told you to put it through the ringer! The stem wasn’t perfect when I sent it out because if you remember it was the secound version I had to build after the first one was stolen so I didn’t perfect it but it still works and o build it to be a tank as far as mechanical watches go.
