It's based on the watch worn by Yuri Gagarin on his first space trip. That watch was red, black, and white. I preferred this color version with the small seconds.

Congrats! It's a manual wind, and non-hacking. I know that bothers some people but I don't mind. You might have to regulate it, I recall mine was fast when I got it.

This could be a Soviet one but to me this is more than likely a Frankenstein watch. And while, I have not seen evidence of the contrary, this anniversary dial makes me feel that this is a fantasy dial.

When it comes to popular Soviet watch models, you really have to do your homework—imo more so than with regular vintage, because of the language barrier and overall lack of familiarity of the watch enthusiast community with Soviet watches and said watches seductive prices. It very much is its own specialization within the watch space. (This is mostly separate from Russian and other post-Soviet watches. There is a difference).

TL;DR This is most likely a Frankenstein. If you want a Shturmanskije Gagarin, you should should either aim for a new one, accept a good franken, or be prepared to do a lot of homework. And always consult Soviet watch forums and subforums.

I'm inclined to agree. I didn't find it on either Sturmanskie or Meranom, but I liked the look and it wasn't overly expensive.
