I have tried Rubber B and Everest straps, but I find the Barton Elite Silicone straps to be the most comfortable. The last keeper is perfect for keeping it all tucked in. I like that is comes in two sizes, as I have slender wrists.

If they made a made an Elite Silicone with curved ends like Rubber B and Everest, I would buy one of every colour.

Wow ... brought back memories of my late father. My mum bought him the same watch just after I was born. He wore it every day until a fateful day he slipped off a pier and fell into the sea. The salt water killed the watch and after a number of failed attempts at repair it languished in a drawer. A few years ago a purchased a working watch to gut the movement and had a watchmaker bring it back to life. I don't wear it often, but I am so happy to have it. Enjoy it in good health.

When I saw this Oris this released, I thought 'hmmmm interesting'.

Now that I saw your photo with that dial and strap combination, I think it looks great and well worth a trip to the local Oris AD to try it on.

Thank you for the inspiration.

I bought one of these kits from eBay. As the old saying goes "you get what you pay for". In the end I found that I ended up buying quality replacement items.

  • proper set of hollow ground screwdrivers, from South Korea
  • Bergeron springbar tool and spring bar tweezers
  • 3x drug store glasses, which are easier to use than the plastic lens loupe in the kit
  • metal bracelet pin vice
  • plastic tweezers, which are perfect if you intend to swap batteries
  • sticky kids rubber ball, to remove casebacks without potential tear rendering scratches

Thank you NeatlydoneZ. That strap really sets off the dial, well done.

What material is the bezel? I cannot find if it is aluminium, ceramic or other on any of Seiko's literature.

I really like this watch, even to the point of ordering the same one after New Year. Unfortunately the store couldn't deliver due to supply chain issues and I got a refund.

I agree, this reference hits almost all my must have requirements. I only wish that the 3 o'clock subdial was a 12 or 24 hour counter, rather than being linked to the hour hand and in effect showing AM and PM.

Wear it in good health.
