I recently picked up a new (to me) camera and decided to take an outdoor adventure. These were shot on a Nikon z6ii with a 7Artisans 18mm lens.
Lots of opinions on the lens, but for the price, it’s a fun pickup that adds character that happens to suit my taste.

Nice! Congrats on the new camera - I have a Z7ii and it’s great - mostly because the Z lens ecosystem is top notch. Is that horsetail falls? Looks very Columbia River Gorge.

Thank you! Yeah, i did quite a bit of reading on them and that’s been the consensus. I had a D5500, so this is pretty good step up. I wanted to stay with Nikon too, since I already have a couple lenses that I like.
This is Silver Falls, about an hour south of Portland. It’s the first time I’ve been there, and so accessible from where I’m at in Portland. By the looks of it, there’s a few waterfalls in the area that I’m excited to check out next time.

Nice, that would be a huge jump in IQ. I migrated over to mirrorless from my workhorse D810, so my Z7ii isn’t too much better on the resolution front and is actually a bit of a step back in AF performance. But the high ISO detail and color rendition from the BSI sensor is really impressive.
It’s been a few years since I’ve made it south of Portland, and even then it’s usually along the coast and not inland like at Silver Falls. I need to explore that area a lot more - it’s a beautiful state.
