Yeah definitely! I was in doubt for a few weeks between this one and a Grand Seiko GMT quartz, which was the goal for a long time saving up for this purchase.
I had mever actually held a GS and so I visited the Grand Seiko dealer and tried a few models. Was absolutely blown away by the details and finishing on these watches. But then I discovered that there actually is an AD for Casio MR-G in my hometown and he had one of these in stock since the previous day. Went by and after seeing the MR-G in the metal I was sold. The finishing, the details, the polishing, the way reflections hit the gold accents, it is just out of this world.
This really is a watch that you have to hold in your hands to see and feel what is about. No picture will do it justice.

Hoping I can see one in person someday. Have a great Thursday 💪
So, here are quite a lot of G-Shock squares around. Nevertheless when I came to this picture I was immediately like "Wait, that one is different! Is it a MR-G?"
So, they are not only secretly special but they have an outstanding visible appeal too.
Nice to see someone enjoying the high-end G-Shocks.

So, this MR-G blew off a Grand Seiko for which you saved up money? That's a statement! I can absolutely relate, but I think that most people hardly understand what it is about this G-Shock league. I personally never considered to buy a G-Shock and I still have no interest in the plastics but I fell to a GMW-B5000GD and I openly admit that the MR-Gs cast magic if one comes in unfiltered contact. Crazy sort of watch family.
Main interest is in quartz and digital watches. Seiko and Casio are my favourite brands. I have built a bronze Casio AE-1200 and a polished stainless steel AE-1200 using aftermarket cases and straps.
