Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
I fell in love with a Santos de Cartier I saw in a photo; then I looked it up and almost shit myself when I saw the price. </p> </p> I started researching watches and learning all of the fantastic little quirks. After a few months and some basic purchases, I realized it was much more fun to lose money regularly with many purchases than in huge chunks like the Santos would require. So, I set forth on my long journey to bankruptcy and haven't looked back!</p>
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Timex Peanuts or Casio f91w - I can't remember.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
My vintage Citizen Ace. I bought an old vintage toolbox and the 60ish year old watch just happened to be tucked away in that toolbox. It actually runs well and keeps decent time.</p> What? Not interesting enough? </p> Well, what if I told you that Citizen Ace was haunted? hmmm? How interesting would that be? It isn't haunted, but just assume it is. INTERESTING!
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Look at your children. Look at your spouse. Look at your wallet. Look at all your disposable cash, and non-disposable cash. </p> Cry/laugh hysterically!
