After almost one year of thinking, planning and organizing me and my friend just launched our latest contribution to the watch community!

We created a centralized watch platform that aims to protect all our watches against theft and loss!

I know there is a few other projects that launched something similar and I’m really happy that plenty of people are taking this matter seriously! Like they say: the more the better!

I invite you all guys to check the project, join, give it a try and also give us some feedback on it! I would be happy to hear your suggestions and opinions about this project!

Warm regards and take care!!!

How will it protect against, ie stop, theft? It looks like a registration service, which is a good idea in principle. Might help retrieve a stolen watch but not sure it will stop a thief.

That's what I thought. Only comes into play after a theft or loss. Doesn't protect against either.

It may be semantics but any product needs to do what it says on the box.

Isnt that why we have insurance? Can't see any benefits tbh...

In the long term the more people there are and the more registered watches will higher the chances of finding stolen watches. The main issue right now is that people don’t know if a watch is stolen or not. Although it won’t directly prevent theft, in the long term it will shrink the black market for stolen watches

It doesn’t cost anything and makes the market more transparent when selling and buying watches

·

Correct! It’s a centralized database

Ah, that makes sense.

However, most expensive watches are registered with the manufacturer and owner. But I get it, a good idea.

Best of luck with it 👍🏻👍🏻

That’s true! But at the same time in the grey market and also for everyday people it is sometimes impossible to check the ownership of a Watch, the idea ok jointrack.org is to make it as simple and straightforward as possible! I don’t say that this platform will stop all the theft and transparency problems (at least not now) but is one step in the right direction!

If you want, give it a chance and check it out😄
