Is Luxury Affordable? If Yes, Sould It Be CHEAP?
Hello crunchers, today's pick is affordable luxury. I believe how many of you have heard of Filippo Loreti, MVMT ect. They present their products as affordable pieces that rival the highend brands of Switzerland and beyond. But this is total bs ofcourse...These watches are not even cheap, but rather, aliexpress no brands whose proces have been incredibly inflated. But is it true? Are all these pieces garbage? Well, I was gifted a Filippo Loreti chronograph and it isn't half bad. It functions nicely, wears well, looks nice but I can not find any factor that could even be associated with highend watchmaking. But the price of $250 is not explainable. The Seiko VD54 chronograph movement can be found on aliexpress for around or barely north of $60. I really don't like bashing on brands there is nothing else to say, they're all copies of one and another. The quality of the second Loreti chronograph I own is non existing. The chronograph function broke after 5 pushes and stops. So do I reccomend buying these watches? Apsolutley not, search for other brands like Timex or Casio or even aliexpress if you're on a really tight budget, but I'd still go for Casio then. But, this is my opinion, everyone has different tastes and prefrences so enjoy your watches People and don't listen to anyone who tries to change your mind without you asking! Cheers.
