Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Only one why not three!
Advice number one: Don’t say you are a watch nerd until you care and know about movements and complications.. It’s like buying a car with out knowing if it’s electric or mechanical, or who is the manufacturer..
Advice number two: Please don’t see timepieces as a investment.. The watch world is a collective for collectors. If you whant to invest buy stocks in companies that have a EBITA over 10 and a P/E under 12.
Advice number three: Have our own opinion about brands but don’t hate on specific brands. (Almost) Every brand has a spot in the watch world.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Doxa, CWC, Seiko, Blancpain to name a few.
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Right now it’s the Blancpain Milspec 1 Fifty Fathoms from 1963. It’s a fascinating brand and the watch is part of a incredibly important piece of diving history. On top of that it’s a extremely rare timepiece that not a lot of people is talking about with excites me.
