Q: How did you get into watch collecting?
Always wore watches as a child.
Q: What was the first watch you ever owned?
Swiss Army from childhood. Still have it and wear it from time to time.
Q: Do you have a watch with a particularly interesting story behind it?
I built my own Tudor Black Bay since they never produced one in my preferred color way of black on black with no gilt. Used an ETA 2824 movement. Pictures are in my profile. Wanted it as a daily beater.
Q: What is one piece of advice you have for someone just getting into watches?
Don’t buy into the hype, buy what you like and don’t be a sucker and overpay.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
Vacheron, JLC, Omega, Grand Seiko, Cartier
Q: What is your grail watch and why?
Patek 5270G. Has all the complications I’d find useful and is a masterpiece.
