c. 1980 My first watch would have been a Texas Instruments (or possibly a Radio Shack) digital with red LED. I promptly ran the battery down by pushing the button over and over and over. Roughly a third of the face had a metal plate on which was painted a red and blue graphic of 2 F1 style race cars. Included with the watch was a sheet of stickers that could be placed over the graphics to customize the appearance on a day-to-day basis.
Q: What brands have been getting your attention lately?
I've been drawn to Chinese watch brands found on AliExpress due to cost and availability. I didn't get interested in mechanical/automatic watches until after Seiko prices had begun to creep ever higher.
