Was the squeeze worth the juice?
I bought an Omega Speedmaster Pulsometer that came on a black leather rally strap when it was released in 2018. The Speedmaster Pulometer is based on a pre-moonwatch Speedmaster CK2998. In 2020 Omega released a blue panda version of CK2998 on a bracelet which to my eyes looked amaze-balls. This immediately sent me down the watch nerd rabbit hole! I contacted Omega which was a complete waste of time for all kinds of reasons I’d rather not go into. I then looked at aftermarket manufactures like Forsner and others, but they did not have the right retro vibe. In the end I tracked down the reference numbers for the bracelet that came on the vintage CK2998 which is what you see pictured. Btw I did find a new bracelet for the blue panda dial CK2998 on eBay for $1200.

Looks great - I love this watch! I have the blue panda CK2998, and just one correction: it comes with a blue alligator strap.
I did update this with a Forstner bracelet though for summer. I went for the flat link, outer polished bracelet which was period correct for the 60s.

Is that not a post-purchase bracelet though, or was it direct from Omega? I’m still fairly sure direct from Omega it came only with the strap.

Either way, the CK2998 looks great on bracelets and leather bands, which is just a bonus for everyone 😂
It’s a legit blue panda Omega bracelet that came with a blue leather alligator option. Here’s the Omega reference number for the Speedy Racing Bracelet 1565/976. Below is an eBay ad for the watch with box and papers and an online seller offering the same combo package.

I truly went down the rabbit hole researching this bracelet. I do like the CK2998 on some bracelets, which also goes for leather straps too. But these are just my own opinions and others are free to agree/disagree. Cheers 🤓
